New Release, Rockstar on Pointe - Silken Edge/Sinful Souls Novella

After two years of brooding over the loss of Cindy to his best friend and bandmate Devon crosses paths with a fiery, red-headed dancer who he can't get out of his mind. He keeps running into her, she's different, exciting and new, and he's ready to move on. Devon's gonna make his move and pray like hell she wants to get to know him better, she's the first to catch his eye since Cindy broke his heart.

*This novella is a continuation from book four (Silken Secrets) in the Silken Edge series, but can also be read as a standalone. Rockstar on Pointe was previously published in The Sirens of SaSS Anthology.

Reviews:

  • The story was full of pain, healing, romantic connection, and hope. Loved it! ~ Reviewer

More info on the series:

The Silken Edge stories are a five book fictitious series about a group of people who are into the BDSM/Kink scene. Each book will follow a different couple as they grow and learn to discover more about themselves in the lifestyle and their relationships. They are light BDSM/Kinky reads (with the exception of #2). The books can each be read as a stand-alone, but it would benefit the reader to learn the characters in the order the books were written.
  • The Silken Edge - Jake & Kristy
  • Silken Desires - Jonathan & Roxi
  • Silken Kisses - Steven & Mona & Roy
  • Silken Secrets - Troy & Devon & Cindy
*Rockstar on Pointe - Sinful Souls Novella (no kink)
  • Silken Courage - Stan/Master Kyle & Crystal

***Currently on Amazon, and within the next few days it will be available on other retailers sites. Watch my social media for links.

Marketing Sucks

Having to market my own books really sucks! Just thought I'd throw that out there, but those of you who market yourselves already know this. I go through either one extreme or another. I either promo a ton (which I'm sure my followers get sick of me during this time), or I don't promo at all.

If I'm writing I don't promo, if I'm not writing I promo. Simple as that, right?

Not really. Sometimes I'm not writing because I'm marketing. It's not fair, I begin to resent the fact that I have to do this, what seems like a chore, and having it take away from my creative time. But it's a must to survive in this world. My stats prove it to me. Every. Single. Time. When I don't promote my sales drop. I market myself, they rise. Simple as that.

During the month of August, I participated in the Sizzlin' Summer Book Bash thrown by MKSP, and part of the event was to discount my books. I planned one month in advance. Contacted all the promo sites that would take erotic romance and asked them to run my ad on the dates of the Book Bash. I contacted blogs, and blogged myself about the event, and discounted prices. I set up a schedule on HootSuite to tweet about the event and the sales. I asked people to spread the word. I did what I could, and what I knew how to do. It was a lot of work, very time consuming, but I sucked it up and made the best of it.

Know what? August was my best month EVER in sales (except when I gave my books away for free), but my current WIP's took a serious hit for it. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

What are some of the least time consuming ways you've found to market/promote yourself?

*****

Oh wait, while I have you, let me promo myself...

Laci Paige ~ Pen Name and Random stuff!

Laci is a girl's name (also used as boy's name Lacey), is pronounced LAY-see. It is of Old French origin. Nobleman's surname carried to England and Ireland after the Norman conquest. Lacey and its variants may also be used in reference to lace, the delicate fabric made of netted thread, hence giving it a feminine connotation.

Laci is not my birth name though, it's my pen name =) How did I come up with the name Laci Paige?
I made a list of girls names I liked, I wasn't even thinking of a last name at that point. This was part of the list:

  • Amy
  • Abbi
  • Crystal
  • Laci
  • Paige
As I read through the list when I said Laci Paige I just like the way that sounded, and went with it! So now you know!

Randoms:
  • I don't know when the movie came out but my favorite movie I saw in 2012 was Paul. I loved that alien and would like him to come live with me! It was a movie about two British comic-book geeks traveling across the U.S. encounter an alien outside Area 51.
  • For new years my family hung out with another family for 24 hours, we ate, played games, drank, ate, drank, ate, slept a bit, ate... you get the idea.
  • I love real milk chocolate made with the cocoa bean, any other chocolate is yucky.
  • For Christmas I was super excited to get three DVD's: Magic Mike, Red Riding Hood, & Snow White and the Huntsman.
  • Two days ago I got the DVD for Better Off Dead! "I want my two dollars!" lol
  • In addition to being an Erotic author, I also pen paranormal romance stories for older teens.

Questions I've been asked:

What is the craziest thing you have done? Probably sex on a roof top. It was scary and exciting at the same time. The roof was not accessible we had to do some serious climbing to get there.

What scares you? Spiders/Death/The dark/Drowning/Flying

Do you believe in aliens? Some days I do. I am iffy on that one.

Have you ever seen a ghost? I was young and I saw something, but I really don't know for sure that's what it was.

What vegetable do you hate? I LOVE all veggies - really!

Did you have an imaginary friend as a child and what was his name? Yes, Doofus was his name. Don't ask me why. I don't know. I was four. I also had an imaginary zoo on my roof.
